The book I am currently reading is called Wanted! It's a scary novel that keeps you on the edge of your seat. It starts out with sharing information about a girl that has divorced parents and this weekend its Alice's time to be with her dad at his condo. Her father was supposed to be at work when she got a misterious phone call. The person said that it was her father, and she was really surprised to hear his voice because he was to be working in the city all day. The phone call started out with her "father" asking Alice to meet him at an ice-cream shop, and bring these two important disks with him. She reminded him that she didn't have her license and he told her to go anyway. She was very confused and didn't know if she should listen to his command or to stay at home and avoid the trouble. Another thing that made this suspicious is that the call wasn't from his office, it was a phone number that she didn't recognize. When they got off the phone she hurried to get ready to go meet him, Alice was very nervous about driving because her dad owned a Corvette, and that was the only option for her. Minutes later, she heard someone enter the house. She was scared and speechless.
I have this book at home, but I haven't read it yet. It sounds interesting. What do you think will happen next? Who do you think the person on the phone was?
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling the disks have a great part in the break-in. The person will most likely just search around the house, maybe take some thigs, and leave. Alice's father must be hiding something on the disks that the person on the phone wanted so bad. I'm not really sure who the person could be.
ReplyDeleteWhat makes you think the guy on the phone wasn't her dad? Here's just a guess...at the end we'll find out that her father isn't dead and he'll show up to save the day. Of course, if I was in trouble and had a Corvette, I might just be gone...
ReplyDeleteI Think that the person on the phone isn't her father because she doesn't recognize the voice of the man, and she knows that he would not tell her to risk getting in trouble with the law just to bring him a few disks.
ReplyDeleteI want to read it. it suonds very good. i think it was not her dad i think its some trying to get her or her dad.
ReplyDeleteAgreed.
ReplyDeleteWho do you think the guy entering the house is?
ReplyDeleteHmm, I'm not sure. Probably a co-worker? Or maybe somebody her dad owes something to.

ReplyDeleteI hope that you have my correct address - cbradley is the correct beginning not mrs. bradley. I know that Carolyn Clooney is a good author, and I have tried to encourage my daughter to read her books. You're right, it is scary! Who entered her home? Does she know anybody else to call for help? How does she feel about spending time with her father?
So does she drive the corvette? I've got to drive a corvette once when I was a teenager, and it was awesome- difficult to control, but fast. Just curious to see if she actually gets in the car and drives off, and if so, how does that work out for her?
ReplyDeleteWhat happend here Kelsy? You've got us all interested. What year Vette? Where's her Momma?
ReplyDeletewhat do you think will happen next? where is her mom?
ReplyDeleteHer mom is at her house, her parents are divorced.
